Paper Bag Records will release a new compilation, See You On The Moon! Songs For Kids Of All Ages, on March 21, 2006. Sufjan Stevens has this to say about his contribution, “The Friendly Beasts,” an old French lullaby: “…I think it is gorgeous. I love the details. Hay, coat, rafter, blanket…There are endless variations. I’ve seen verses for cats and camels and mules and turtles. It turns out everyone was there at the manger. Who knew?”

Asthmatic Kitty Records will release their second compilation, Mews Too, on February 07, 2006. Sufjan Stevens contributes the track “Opie’s Funeral Song.” Sufjan has played the song live in the past but this is the first time the song will appear on an official release. Laura Park created the cover artwork for Mews Too.

Sufjan Stevens has contributed the track “Variation On ‘Commemorative Transfiguration & Communion At Magruder Park’” to I Am The Resurrection: A Tribute To John Fahey. The “variation” is that Sufjan sings the last verse of “All Creatures Of Our God And King” while the original is all instrumental. Vanguard Records will release I Am The Resurrection on February 14, 2006.

The latest release from David Crowder Band, A Collision, features a cover of the Sufjan Stevens song “O God Where Are You Now (In Pickerel Lake? Pigeon? Marquette? Mackinaw?).” The song first appeared on Sufjan’s 2003 album Michigan.
