Sufjan’s Next State: Delaware

Sufjan has just announced that Delaware will be the subject of his next state album.

Update April 2: Yes, this was an April Fools’ Day joke. The artwork wasn’t just whipped up for this occasion; someone brought it to my attention a few months ago. Apparently the artwork has been online, and undiscovered, for almost 2 years. The artist’s comments (emphasis mine, for those of you that still think this is real):
CD cover for my favorite musician, Sufjan Stevens. he is so great. but enough gushing. I wanted this to look folksy and playful, like his music. He has made 2 cds having to do with certain states , Illinois and Michigan, so I decided next he is doing my birth state of Delaware. I mean, good old DE just doesn’t get enough attention. All things on the cd are relating to DE (state bird, bug, plant, etc). I made up song titles based off little-known stuff in the state as well, just like he does for his other cds. i dressed him up in the clothes that one of the guys on the state flag wears as well. just in case u were wondering.

This would have been better than you could have ever imagined. Maybe he will come to his senses and record the Delaware album when he is 58 and it will be like listening to Willie Nelson or something.
Delaware is better than Jersey!! (maybe not but I would like to believe so)
