CLARE & THE REASONS RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM ON FROG STAND RECORDS
“…her own songs are full of melodic surprise and urban fun. Her pure, shimmery soprano is a marvelous instrument, with a trembling, heart-melting vibrato, and a sleek, muted resonance.”
-Boston Globe
The Movie harkens back to the romance of a forgone era, through the eyes of contemporary indie-pop.
Clare Muldaur Manchon, Alan Hampton, Olivier Manchon, Greg Ritchie, Beth Meyers, Christopher Hoffman, and Bob Hart are a band creating swirling orchestral pop, complete with a string section.
Their debut release, “The Movie“, is also the debut release for Brooklyn’s fresh, new label; Frog Stand Records, and features guest appearances by the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Van Dyke Parks, and Gregoire Maret.
“The Movie” is playful, and soulful. Clare’s vocals and lyrics are both earnest and intangibly appealing, set to the rich tapestry of The Reasons.
Clare has had her songs featured in Lionsgate feature films, the HBO series, “Cathouse“, and performed 2 tracks on the FOX show, “Arrested Development“.
“The Movie” is being distributed by Red Eye Distribution, worldwide.
