Music Now Festival
In a recent interview Sufjan mentioned the possibility of working with Bryce Dessner [of The National and Clogs] in the future on “a music group where we play period instruments.. like old guitars and old stringed instruments.” While this project is not likely to surface any time soon (”we haven’t actually practiced yet”), the two will both make appearances at the Music Now Festival on April 5-7 in Cincinnati, OH. Also appearing are My Brightest Diamond, Amiina, Vojtech and Irena Havel, Pedro Soler and Clogs. Sufjan will play a headlining show on the 7th and a string quartet (sans Sufjan) will premiere select arrangements from Enjoy Your Rabbit on the 5th.
Tickets are $60 for the entire event and go on sale on February 15. Memorial Hall is a small venue and Sufjan’s recent and upcoming appearances have sold out quickly so be sure to get your tickets right away. Scalpers beware: the festival promoters warn that “IF YOU PUT YOUR TICKETS ON EBAY, CRAIGSLIST, OR ANOTHER AUCTION SITE, THEY WILL BE CANCELLED.”
