Obviously tired of answering the same questions over and over, Sufjan gives Borders Monthly what is possibly the most humorous answer to date when asked which state is next:

“It’s a state of Christmas. I call it That Creepy Christmas Feeling. You’ve had too much eggnog, your credit card bill is due, Aunt Marie just threw up all over the bath mat, and no one can figure out how to get the lights on the tree to stop blinking!”

As longtime fans may know, Sufjan has (unofficially) done the “state of Christmas” 3 times already. Although fans are eager to find out which state (if any) Sufjan will really cover next, we will all just have to wait until he is ready to announce it on his own terms.
