The Welcome Wagon, Relevant, Jan 2009: "Everything we've done, recording-wise, is indebted to Sufjan. He produced this record, mixed it and plays a bunch on it. It sounds like Sufjan because he's on it a ton. I'm not surprised by that though, I'm glad when people say The Welcome Wagon sounds like Sufjan's stuff. I love his music. If it's unfair to anybody it's him, because he put himself in the position of a servant to us in making this record. We made a lot of decisions that he wouldn't have made, but he put himself at our service." (0)
Rosie Thomas, Relevant, Dec 2008: "The way we recorded These Friends of Mine was kind of like a science experiment... It was around that time Sufjan asked, 'Rosie, when was the last time we recorded just for fun?' So we both decided to get away and goof around a bit. We were purposely careless. Everything happened so naturally and I think it happened that way because I let my guard down. It worked because I wasn't feeling pressured. No deadlines. No demands." (0)
Osso is scheduled to play at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC on Dec 22. They don't play often, so catch this show if you can.

The Welcome Wagon: Keepers of the Faith Thrive in the Hipster's Den - Paste Magazine, Dec 2008 - "Who are Vito and Monique Aiuto? Simple church folk suddenly clamoring for hipster cred? A Sufjan Stevens project masquerading under a new moniker? Are they simple-minded reactionaries? Or simply a Presbyterian minister and his wife, taking a break from tending their flock to play some heartfelt religious tunes?" (0)
A lot of people are asking us whatever happened to Alec Duffy & Hoi Polloi and the holiday 2008 show they promised, featuring the Sufjan song they won in last year's Xmas Xchange Contest. If you know, send us an email or leave a comment. (0)
